Our Funding
Union Mission of Roanoke Rapids receives no federal, state or United Way Funding that would compromise our ability to share the Gospel, choosing instead to rely on the gifts of God's people, private foundations, businesses and the church.
We are a 501(c)3 organization and we submit to an independent audit each year; a copy of the audit is available upon request. We are a member in good standing of the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions, www.agrm.org, a networking agency that sets the standard for more than 300 member missions in the United States and across the world.
Who We Are
Our Mission
To meet, the needs of the whole person-spiritual, educational, emotional, physical, vocational, and social-through the power of Jesus Christ and restore hurting individuals to fully functioning members of society.
Our Vision
Our vision is to expand facilities and services in the Roanoke Valley to the families and individuals in need using Christian-based values and through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Our Core Values
Union Mission of Roanoke Rapids is committed to serving the community with the following guiding principles and core values in everything we do.
During my time at the Union Mission, I had the opportunity to meet many people in the community who were hurting and hungry. I saw first hand how the poor economy has changed the lives of my students and their families.
My goal for my time at the Union Mission was to write a grant for this organization. The first step of the grant process was was to complete a logic model.
Part of my summer community internship goal was to write a grant. I worked collaboratively with 3 NELA Fellows to write a grant for the Boys and Girls Club. (Boys and Girls Club Grant)
This grant was for a life skills digital lab. The LifeSkills Digital Lab will allow Boys and Girls Club participants in grades 6-12 to use laptops, digital movie production software, digital cameras, printers, scanners, and other technologies in the creation of Public Service Announcements.
This grant for $3000 was awarded to the Boys and Girls Club.
